Reports to: Scheduling Manager & Plant Manager 

Job Site: San Juan Bautista, CA

Shift: Day Shift

Pay Salary Range: $66,560-$70,000 


SUMMARY: Under general supervision of the Scheduling Manager & Plant Manager, the production scheduler is responsible for the development, execution, and performance monitoring of the daily value-added, leaf, and broccoli production schedule.  Is also responsible for purchasing raw product for driving procurement needs, maintaining raw product inventory and generating daily harvest requests.  Provide support to other departments as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Production Scheduler is responsible for the development, execution, and performance monitoring of the production schedule for the value-added, tender-leaf, specialty, clamshell and broccoli lines
  • Schedules the day-to-day operations of the value-added, tender-leaf, specialty, clamshell and broccoli lines.
  • Organizes production schedule by reviewing current sales, current production schedule, and the availability of production lines, raw product, production materials, and employees
  • Ensures schedule optimizes line time and labor efficiency, and make adjustments based on inventory and sales to ensure highest level of customer service
  • Purchases raw product as authorized by senior management to drive production schedules
  • Publishes daily production schedule by identifying products, equipment, sequence, and completion times
  • Resolves scheduling issues by collecting and analyzing information to help coordinate solutions

 

  • Monitors production by collecting production data to compare progress to schedule
  • Prepares reports by compiling and summarizing production information and raw product receipt to harvest forecast.  Maintains line efficiency report and responsible for the development of priority production lists for day and night shifts.
  • Works closely with sales personnel to convert orders into production schedules
  • Works closely with production, sales, inventory, receiving & shipping personnel
  • Works closely with harvest to ensure the correct raw product is available and places order to fulfill plant production needs
  • Communicates any potential problems relating to production and / or raw product 
  • Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Remain available during all shift (day and night) to support any phone calls or emails that may require immediate attention

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Preferred: 

  • Associate’s degree
  • 3 years of experience in inventory or materials management

Minimum: 

  • High school diploma
  • 2 years of experience in inventory or materials management

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
