GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Logistics Coordinator is essential in orchestrating the logistics operations that ensure seamless movement and distribution of goods. This role requires strategic planning and execution of logistics procedures to meet internal and external client demands efficiently. The Coordinator will focus on enhancing product workflow through analysis and implementation of logistics strategies impacting production, distribution, and inventory management, all while prioritizing customer satisfaction and cost-effectiveness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop comprehensive logistics plans that align with the organization’s objectives.
- Assessing current logistics processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Dispatch drivers effectively by scheduling timely appointments and ensuring that all logistical details are communicated clearly.
- Monitor driver performance and address any issues that arise during transport.
- Generate, verify, and process invoices for all orders.
- Ensure that freight charges are accurately entered prior to invoicing and that carrier invoices are approved efficiently.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies related to invoices in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the accounting team to reconcile freight invoices and resolve any billing issues.
- Maintain clear communication to ensure that all financial documentation is accurately processed.
- Assist in the resolution of claims by coordinating with various stakeholders to address issues related to damaged or lost goods.
- Work proactively to minimize the occurrence of claims through effective logistics management.
- Monitor and track loads throughout the shipping process.
- Maintain up-to-date records within spreadsheets, communicate truck locations to relevant parties, and address any problems encountered during loading or while in route.
- Manage and resolve issues related to rejected loads or logistical challenges.
- Develop solutions and communicate effectively with all involved parties to ensure minimal disruption in operations.
- Provide administrative support to the Logistics Manager, including assisting with special projects and performing additional duties as assigned that contribute to the overall success of the logistics team.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations and solve practical problems using various mathematical techniques.

- General work schedule M-F 6am – 3pm, Saturdays if needed 6am – 11am. (Note working schedule is subject to change based on operational needs)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear; frequently required to use hands for various tasks, including typing and handling documents.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, and lift/move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
