GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Loader is responsible for the accurate loading of all trucks and in a timely matter.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks on a daily basis.
- Must make sure that the truck inspection is done and the sheet is filled-in properly and entirely BEFORE you start loading.
- Make sure that the ICC restraint bar is positioned accordingly before they enter the trailer.
- Communicate with the driver on loading instructions.
- Must fill out any necessary information on pick ticket, which includes how many pallets, location, missing product and who authorized any subs or cuts.
- Fill out "staging" schematic where all pallet tags are entered.
- Must fill out trailer schematic for pallet positions
- Communicate to Manager or Expediter on any missing product
- Turn in paperwork accurately to dispatcher
- Wait for dispatcher to verify load.
- Must wait for next order before anything else.
- Must communicate safety and mechanical problems as they arise.
- Fill out daily forklift inspection reports
- Be able to follow instructions, procedures and company policies.
- Must be able to load 300 case an hour average (minimal)
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma required
- A minimum of one year forklift operator experience
